LOCATION: Harrington Center (Cincinnati, OH)

THE BASICS:

The Lions faced the Transylvania Pioneers at home to continue conference play. The Lions started hot were points away from taking the first set but Transylvania was able to fight back to take the lead. The Lions weren't able to find their momentum again and fell to the Pioneers in three straight sets.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Lions started the match off slowly and found themselves at a 9-2 deficit. The Lions battled back midway through the set to tie the score at 15. The Lions continued their strong play through the most of the set where they would hold a 24-20 lead. The Pioneers cleaned up their play to make a big surge and would stun the Lions, winning the first set 26-24. The Lions found their way to start the second set and would go point for point with Transy. The Pioneers would slowly start to build a lead midway through the set but a five point service run from Riley Brunner (Lawrenceburg, IN / Lawrenceburg) brought the Lions back into the match. The Lions were able to bring the score within three points towards the end of the set but the deficit was too much, resulting in a 25-20 victory for Transy. The Lions struggled to find their offense throughout the first set, leading to a Pioneers lead. Transy continued to capitalize on the Lions errors and would defeat the Lions 25-10 in the third set and 3-0 for the match.
