Five Lions recognized for their successful seasons on the volleyball court

Cincinnati, Ohio- Mount St. Joseph University celebrates five lions who received HCAC all-conference awards for the past season. Hannah Losey (Tipp City, OH / Tippecanoe) was named All-HCAC for her outstanding play this year. Hannah, a senior at the Mount, is a communications and new media studies major . Juniors Cailey Plemmons (Oxford, OH / Talawanda), Briana Looney (Harrison, OH / Harrison), and Riley Brunner (Lawrenceburg, IN/Lawrenceburg) were decorated with HCAC Honorable Mention awards for their competitive play on the court this season. Plemmons is studying early childhood education and is looking forward to another great year at the Mount. Looney is majoring in biology and hopes to continue her amazing defensive play, following her finish this season as second in the HCAC with 1.25 blocks per game. Brunner was a six rotation player for the Lions this season, finishing second on the team in both kills and digs. Riley Brashear (Maineville, OH / Kings) was honored with the Sportsmanship award this year for her maturity and fair play on the court. Riley, is a senior at the Mount studying biomedical science.

Losey was a key offensive weapon this year as she was eighth in the conference with 2.66 kills per set, and a total of 263 kills for the year. Losey and Looney were twelfth and thirteenth, respectively in the HCAC with a hitting percentage of .226 for the season. Brashear had a great year serving, placing ninth in the conference with a remarkable .37 service aces per set. Brashear also placed twelfth in assists per set with a 4.26 assist per set. Plemmons played well defensively, picking up 221 digs and averaging 2.83 digs per set for the year.

The lady lions had a great season this year and are looking forward to the upcoming campaign as they look to reload with returning talent and experience at the helm.
