Lions unable to come out with win against Hanover

The Lions continue conference play in a Wednesday night matchup against the Panthers of Hanover College. Starting off slowly, the Lions weren't able to find their groove in the match. After a close first set the Panthers would go on to close out the match with a score of 3-0.

The first set was a battle for both teams, neither able to make a significant run. Every time Hanover would find a small lead, The Mount would fight back to tie the score. With the score tied at 18 the Lions would try to mount a comeback but weren't able to contain the Panthers offense.  Hanover came out with the first set with a score of 25-21. The second set was another hard fought battle with neither team able to break away. The score stayed within three points with multiple lead changes. Hanover went on a run late in the second set leading to a 25-19 win. In the final set the Lions still couldn't find their groove on offense. The Mount would try to make a comeback late in the set but the Panthers defense was too much. The Lions fought hard but couldn't come out with the win, dropping the final set 25-18.

Cailey Plemmons (Oxford, OH / Talawanda) stepped up for the Lions offense, earning 10 kills while grabbing 10 digs in the back row. The Lions had multiple players contributing on defense with Karlie Schell (West Harrison, IN / Franklin County) and Riley Brunner (Lawrenceburg, IN / Lawrenceburg) grabbing 10 and 11 digs, respectively.

The Lions (11-10, 1-3) find their way back home in another HCAC matchup against Earlham College (14-6, 2-1) this Saturday 10/14 at 1PM. Come out to Harrington Center to support your Lions and be ready to make some noise!
