Title: Assistant Coach

Warren McConnell returns to the Mount for his second season as an assistant coach in 2014-2015, and is entering his 42nd year coaching track and field with the majority of his career spent coaching and developing high school athletes.

McConnell feels that helping the student-athlete discover the relationship between athletics and attaining successes throughout their lives has been the cornerstone of his career.

During his career as a high school coach he has won numerous coaching awards. He has coached over twenty athletes that have placed in the state meet including two state champions and two All-Americans. He has also coached athletes that have gone on to play for professional teams such as the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Cincinnati Reds.

After graduating from Indian Hill High School, he attended the University of Cincinnati on a partial track scholarship, graduating with a degree in math education and then went on to achieve an M.S. in Educational Administration from Xavier University. During his years at the University of Cincinnati his events focused on sprints and hurdles and he was part of the shuttle hurdle relay team that set the school record.

After teaching math for 31 years, Coach McConnell is now retired and resides in Cincinnati, Ohio with his wife and two sons.
