Lions unable to come out with win against Centre College

Location: Schueler Field (Cincinnati, OH)

The Basics: The Lions were defeated by the visiting #18 Centre College Colonels in a tough game, 3-1.

How it Happened:

Centre struck first early in the first half with a goal in the 17th minute. The Lions wasted no time and scored the equalizer in the 19th minutes on a goal from Paige Mersmann (Florence, KY / Boone County) on an Etelle n'For (Frankfort, Ky / Western Hills) assist. Centre found another opportunity at the net and scored again in the 23rd minute to take the lead. The Lions would hold tight through the rest of the first half, going into the half down 2-1. Both teams would play hard defense all throughout the second half. Neither team's shots were connecting until Centre found the goal again in the 79th minute. The Lions would have multiple shots on goal in the final minutes but couldn't find the net, resulting in a 3-1 loss to the Colonels.
