Lions complete sweep during two game weekend

Location: Schueler Field (Cincinnati, OH)

The Basics: The Lions found themselves at Schueler Field yet again as they looked to face the Mount Union Raiders. The Lions didn't miss a beat, quickly defeating their opponents 4-0.

How It Happened:

The Lions didn't waste any time getting on the board, with their first goal coming 3 minutes into the contest. Stefanie Autenrieb (Cincinnati, Ohio / Seton) let it fly from 35 yards and connected with the back of the net to give the Lions an early lead. The Mount would find the net once again right before the half with another long shot from Kara Vennemeier (Harrison, OH / Harrison). The Lions went into the half with a 2-0 lead over the Raiders. The Lions came back after the half with the same energy and freshman Etelle n'For (Frankfort, Ky / Western Hills) scored her first goal of her career off of an assist from Paige Mersmann (Florence, KY / Boone County) in the 49th minute. The Lions defense was spectacular during the match, only allowing six shots on goal the whole match. Vennemeier wasn't done yet and found the net once again in the 78th minute to put the game away for the Lions.

Standouts:

n'For scored the first goal of her collegiate career here at the Mount. Autenrieb continued her hot streak with another long goal early in the match. Vennemeier connected with the back of the net twice during the contest, scoring her first goals of the season.
