Lions defeated by the Yellow Jackets on the road

DEFIANCE, OH - The Mount St. Joseph Lions traveled to take on the Yellow Jackets of Defiance College in a conference match-up. The Lions entered the game hoping to gain a conference win on the road. The Lions were unable to come out on top, dropping the game too the Yellow Jackets 59-74.

The Lions started the game off strong, only being down one point in the first quarter with a score of 17-18. The Mount struggled to find momentum on the offensive side in the second quarter as they were only able to score 9 points to the Yellow Jackets 25, ending the first half with a score of 26-43.

The Mount entered the second half of the game hoping to make up the first half deficit. Again, The Lions started off strong, only down by one point to end the third quarter. They continued the momentum into the 4th quarter leading the points 20-17. The Mount was unable to make up the halftime deficit and lost the game 59-74.

Maddie Haberthy (Cincinnati, OH/ Mercy) lead The Mount with 19 points, 1 assist, and 2 steals. Lainee Studer (Pleasant Plain, OH/ Little Miami) lead the defensive side, ending the game with 5 assist, 5 steals, and 7 points. Aliyah Huff (Cincinnati, OH/ Roger Bacon) also lead the defensive side, earning 8 rebounds, 2 steals, and 9 points.
