How it Happened:

The Lions honored their lone senior Rachel Fairfield (Aurora, IN/ Oldenburg Academy) before the game as she was escorted onto the court by her parents.  She was embraced by her teammates as she was congratulated for her successful career here at the Mount.  The first quarter, the Lions struggled to stop the Panthers offense.  Hanover was able to put together a 14-0 run to take the lead over the Lions early.  At the end of the first, the Lions trailed 18-6.  In the second quarter, the Lions were able to produce some offense to decrease the deficit.  Lainee Studer (Pleasant Plain, OH/ Little Miami) was able to score 7 points in the quarter to keep her team in the game.  The Lions still trailed going into halftime with the score at 41-25.  The Mount played well in the third quarter outscoring the Panthers 17-14.  The Lions tried hard to decrease the lead in the final quarter, but were defeated by Hanover with a final score of 76-52.
