Lions split with Birmingham Southern

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The Lions traveled to Birminghan, Ala. to take on the Birmingham Southern College Panthers. The Lions would travel back north with a split, taking game one in extra innings, before dropping game two. 

GAME 1:

The Lions sent Sarah Miller (Fishers, Ind./St. Theodore Guerin) to the mound to open the game, she struggled in this one. Over her 3.0 innings of work she allowed 7 runs (5 earned), on 5 hits and 5 walks. Miller was removed in the fourth inning for Alaina Maddy (Cincinnati, Ohio/Northwest). Maddy was very good out of the bullpen, going 5.0 innings, allowing only 2 hits and 1 run, getting the win.

The Lions hammered out 11 hits in the game, with Brooke Otto (Brookville, Ind./Franklin Co.), Brandy Bunch (Mason, Ohio/Mason), Katie Tarter (Fairfield, Ohio/Fairfield) and Miller each registered a pair.
