Men's Volleyball program receives 2nd in MCVL Preseason Poll

The Mount St. Joseph University Lions have been voted by the coaches in the Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League to finish second in the preseason poll with one first place vote. This is the highest the Lions have placed in a preseason poll in program history. The Lions are looking forward to continuing their success after finishing third in conference with a record of 21-7. The Lions were led by first year head coach Cristina Webb who continued to lead the program in the right direction. Carthage leads the polls in first with eight first place votes. North Central and Wittenberg follow behind the Mount at third and fourth place, respectively.

The Lions return four starters from last year, Darrell Swanson (Las Vegas, NV/ Arbor View), Nathan Herdeman (Cincinnati, OH/ Elder), Andrew Chisholm (Cincinnati, OH/ Oak Hills), and Darien Bradley (Las Vegas, NV/ Arbor View). Swanson was an explosive piece of the Lions offense and was a huge part in their win against Carthage College in the MCVL Tournament. Herdeman orchestrated the Lions offense while also leading the conference in assist. Chisholm will continue to lead the Lions at the net with his outstanding blocking skills. Bradley looks to continue his consistent play on offense and defense. The Lions will rely heavily on their seniors as they take on St. Joseph's (L.I.) on January 19th, 2018 at Kean University in Union, NJ.
