Alan Spell enters his second season on the Lions' coaching staff and will make the transistion back to offense to coach the Wide Receivers after serving as an assistant Linebackers Coach in the fall of 2017. 

Coach Spell, who spent 10 seasons as a High School Coach prior to being hired at the Mount, has worked most of his coaching career working with skill players on both sides of the ball. Spell assisted a defense that rank second in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference in 2017. His assistance helped Sophmore Nathan Stone and Senior Colby Webb to Second-Team All-HCAC accolades. Spell came to the Mout from Clark Montessori High School where he spent his final season as the Offensive Coordinator (QB / RB). Including his three seasons at Clark Montessori, Spell had stops that include La Salle HS (WR / DB), Atherton (WR / DB), Louisville Male (Safeties), NC Tech (RB), Finneytown (WR / DB), and Franklin Co (RB / LB). 

Spell played his High School ball at Landmark Christian Academy before going on to graduate with his Bachelor of Arts from Kentucky State University in 2008 in Psychology while minoring in Athletic Training. In addition to coaching, Spell works at the Mount as an Admissions Counselor. He resides in the Cincinnati area with his daughter, Kenzie.
