The Mount Baseball Team Picked to Finish 8th in HCAC

The Mount St. Joseph University baseball team has been predicted to finish 8th in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference by coaches in a pre-season poll.  Last season the Lions finished the season with a record of 14-21 which led them to an 9th place finish in the conference with a 5-11 record. The Lions are looking to make it further in the season and make a run in conference tournament this season.  

The Lions return 4 seniors, Simon Schaefer (Cincinnati, OH/ St. Xavier), Chris Honebrink (Cincinnati, OH/ Roger Bacon), Wyatt Myers (Waynesville, OH/ Waynesville) and Alex Wagner (West Chester, OH/ Lakota West). The seniors hope to lead the 12 new Lions to a successful season under the command of Jeff Newman, coming back for his 5th season as the baseball head coach.

HCAC Players to watch are senior pitchers Wagner and Meyers, senior infielder Schaefer and junior infielders Roman Rothwell (Monroe, OH/ Monroe) and Garrett Hogan (Hamilton, OH/ Badin). The Lions are ready to get their season underway with their first game fast approaching on Saturday, February 23rd at Berea College.  Continue to check for more updates on the Lions season!
