Host DePauw University won a five-set thriller on Wednesday night against the Lions, the second time they defeated the Mount this season. The Mount, 11-14 overall, will host a tri-match on Oct. 19, when they take on HCAC-foe Anderson University and non-conference opponent Otterbein University. The Lions are 3-1 in the HCAC; Anderson has a 2-2 conference mark.

The Mount and DePauw split the first two sets of the match, with the Lions winning the first, 25-19 and dropping the second, 27-25. The Lions, however, took a 2-1 lead in the match, winning set three, 25-19, but then falling in the fourth set by the same score. Set five saw the Tigers jump out to a 4-0 advantage and lead 6-4, thanks to a solid hitting attack. Another DePauw kill led to a 10-5 lead and a Mount hitting error pushed the home team's advantage out to 12-5. DePauw posted the set five win, 15-7, and match victory, when they posted another kill. With the win, the Tigers improved to 18-3 on the season.

Hannah Vanarsdall (Cincinnati, OH/McAuley) led the Lions with 13 kills and 16 digs while Nicole Sherpensky (Cincinnati, OH/Northwest) had 11 kills. Stephanie Chisholm (Cincinnati, OH/Oak Hills) had seven kills and seven block assists while teammate Emma Beyer (Liberty Township, OH/Mt. Notre Dame) added a game-high 17 digs. Janelle Davis (Convoy, OH/Wayne Trace) had 28 assists and 15 digs.
