Mount volleyball player Nicole Sherpensky selected HCAC Offensive Player of the Week

The College of Mount St. Joseph’s Nicole Sherpensky (Cincinnati, OH/Northwest), who helpled lead the Lions to a HCAC title with a win over Transy, has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week on offense.  The junior middle hitter totaled 43 kills and hit .375 in three matches to lead the Lions offense.  She also had 10 blocks, three digs, and an ace during the week. 

Sherpensky had 16 kills and hit .343 in the Mount’s 3-1 win over Transy to claim a share of the league title and earn the top seed in this week’s HCAC tournament.  Mount (12-14, 8-1 HCAC) will face the winner of the Hanover vs. Defiance match at 2:00 PM Saturday in Cincinnati.
