Mount women's volleyball team wins at Anderson University, 3-1

The Mount kept pace with the HCAC leaders today, by claiming a 3-1 win at Anderson University. The Lions are now 9-12 overall. 6-1 in the conference and will be back in action on Oct. 17 when they host a non-conference match against DePauw University.

The Lions got a well-varied offensive attack against the Ravens, recording 52 kills and eight service aces. Bethani Ritter (Cincinnati, OH/McAuley) led the Mount with 17 kills, while teammates Nicole Sherpensky (Cincinnati, OH/Northwest) and Hannah Vanarsdall (Cincinnati, OH/McAuley) chipped in 13 and 12 kills, respectively. Sherpensky and Vanarsdall each added three aces, while Vanarsdall had 12 digs and four blocks.

Jaclyn Stenger (Cincinnati, OH/Oak Hills) led the defense with 19 digs, while Ritter and Janelle Davis (Convoy, OH/Wayne Trace) each had nine digs. Davis also had 41 assists over the four-set match, which the Lions won, 25-19, 25-14, 23-25, 25-17.
