Mount women's track & field team places tenth at the HCAC Championships

The Lions traveled to Manchester, Indiana on Frdiay  to compete in the two-day HCAC championships. The Lions placed tenth, recording one point. The HCAC champion was Hanover College with 179 points, followed by Franklin College with 144 points , and Defiance College with 111 points.

Brandy Deaton (Burlington, KY/Cooper) finished just short of earning a point for the Lions in the high jump. Deaton finished in a tie for 10th place with a jump of 1.42 meters. Rachel Blevins (Middletown, OH/Madison) again finished one spot away from earning the Lions a point in the shot put. Blevins finished ninth with a throw of 9.86 meters. The point earner for the Lions was Gina Carmosino (Cincinnati, OH/Mercy). Carmosino finished eighth in the hammer throw, with a season-best throw distance of 33.25 meters. Blevins again finished just outside the point range with a 10th place finish in the hammer throw, recording a throw of 32.27 meters.

The Lions will next compete at the North Central College Last Chance Meet on May 16-17.
