Lions' women's track & field participates in the Marv Frye Invitational

The Lions traveled to Delaware, Ohio this Saturday to participate in the Marv Frye Invitational at Ohio Wesleyan University. The Lions placed 13th out of 14 teams recording one point. The meet champion was the host Ohio Wesleyan with 146 points, followed by Capital with 95, and Otterbein with 92.

Rachel Blevins (Middletown, OH/Madison) had the highest finish for the Lions. In the shot put she recorded a season-best throw of 10.18 meters, which was good enough for a 13th place finish. Blevins also recorded another season-high in the javelin throw, with a throw of 25.86 meters, good for a 16th place finish. Brandy Deaton (Burlington, KY/Cooper) also competed in two events. In the high jump, Deaton hit the first mark of 1.38 meters, before missing out on all three tries at 1.43 meters. In the long jump she recorded a jump of 4.21 meters.

The Lions will return to Delaware, Ohio next week for the All-Ohio Championships. The meet will begin Saturday, April 13 at noon.
