Women's track & field team places seventh at the Hanover College Invitational

The Lions traveled to Hanover College on Saturday to compete in the Hanover Track & Field Invitational. The Mount recorded 26 points, good enough for seventh place. The meet champion was the host Hanover College, with 255.5 points, followed by fellow HCAC members Manchester College, with 131 points, and Rose Hulam Institute, which finished with 101 points.

Two Lions stood out in the 100-meter dash today, as Alexandra Donald (Litchfield, ME/Oak Hill) and Trinity Saner (Taylor Mill, KY/Scott) both finished in the top five. Donald finished third in a time of 14.07, followed by Saner in fourth place with a time of 14.48. In the 3000-meter steeplechase, Samantha Greco (CIncinnati, OH/Colerain) finished fifth for the Mount, turning in a time of 14:38.40.

Rachel Blevins (Middletown, OH/Madison) finished fith in the shot put with a throw of 9.92 meters. Gina Carmisino (Cincinnati, OH/Mercy) also finished fifth in the discus throw. Her throw of 33.02 meters was good enough to earn the Lions four points. Carmisino also earned the Lions three more points by throwing the hammer 32.75 meters, good for sixth place.

The Lions will return to action on April 6 when they travel to Delaware, Ohio to comepte in the Ohio Wesleyan University Marv Frye Invitational.
