Mount women's track & field squad places sixth at the MSJ Invitational

The Lions hosted the College of Mount St. Joseph Inviataional on Friday, at both Schueler and Hayden Fields, with 10 schools participating in 19 events. The Hanover College Panthers were the team champions with 189 points, followed by Campbellsville with 162, and Defiance with 116. The Lions finished sixth with 44 points.

In the 3000-meter steeplechase Samantha Greco (Cincinnati, OH/Colerain) finished first, earning the Lions 10 points, in a time of 15:10.83. Amanda Shelby (Cincinnati, OH/Lakota West) finished second in the 5000-meter run. Her time of 19:28.69 was good enough to earn the Lions eight points. The Mount's 4x100-meter relay team achored by Alex Donald (Litchfield, ME/Oak Hill) finished third, earning six points with a time of 55.26 seconds. Gina Carmosino (Cincinnati, OH/Mercy) earned the Lions six points in the hammer throw with a throw of 32.97 meters.

The Lions return to action next Saturday, March 30t, when they travel to Hanover, Indiana for the Hanover College Invitational.
