Thursday, March 14, 2013 The 2013 HCAC Women's Outdoor Track & Field Preseason Poll has been released and the Lions have been chosen for a ninth place tie by the conference's coaches. Hanover was selected as a near-unanimous number one selection, picking up nine of the 10 first-place votes, for 99 points. They were followed in the poll by Franklin (one, first-place vote), Rose-Hulman, Defiance, and Manchester. Anderson, Bluffton, Earlham, the Mount, and Transylvania round out the second half of the 10-team poll. Hanover has captured the last two HCAC Outdoor team titles. Mount junior Kaitlynn Maus (Hamilton, OH/Badin), in throws; freshman Amanda Shelby (Cincinnati, OH/Lakota West), in distance events; and sophomore Emily Wohlfrom (Cincinnati, OH/Oak Hills), in mid-distance events, were chosen as Athletes to Watch this season.
