Mount St. Joseph University has been chosen for eighth place among the women's tennis teams in the HCAC Coaches' Preseason Poll.
Hanover College’s women’s tennis team has been selected as the front runner to win the 2014 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference championship. In a poll of the nine HCAC head coaches, the Panthers received a total of 78 points and six first place votes.
Transylvania University placed second in the poll with 68 points and two first place votes, while Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology is picked to finish third in the conference standings with 61 points and the final first place vote. Franklin College (58 points), Anderson University (47), Manchester University (36), Earlham College (30), the Mount (16), and Defiance College (11) round out the poll.
The following Mount players were selected as “Players to Watch” this season:
Shelby Betz Junior Hamilton, Ohio/Lakota West
Felicia Shadwick Sophomore Moddletown, Ohio/ Monroe
Morgan Hoehn Sophomore Cincinnati, Ohio/Colerain
