Mount women's tennis team posts first HCAC win of season

The College of Mount St. Joseph women's tennis team collected its first HCAC win of the 2013 campaign on Saturday afternoon when they recorded a 9-0 home win over Defiance College. The Mount, 2-8 overall, 1-6 in the conference, will end conference dual match play on Oct. 13 when they host Rose-Hulman (6-2, 5-2 HCAC).

Shelby Betz (Hamilton, OH/Lakota West) had two wins against the Yellow Jackets, posting a 6-0, 6-1 at first singles while also winning at first doubles with Morgan Hoehn (Cincinnati, OH/Colerain), winning 8-1. Fifth singles player Sarah Kennedy (Harrison, OH/Harrison) also won her fifth singles match, 6-1, 6-0.
