Lions' women's tennis team suffers conference road loss to Earlham College

Host Earlham College posted wins in five of six singles action and all three doubles matches on Saturday afternoon en route to an 8-1 HCAC win against the Mount.  With the loss the Lions fall to 1-5 overall, 0-4 in the HCAC, and will be back in action on Oct. 2 when they host a conference match against Transylvania University.

Sixth singles player Holly Rainey (Morrow, OH/Clinton-Massie) posted the team's lone win against the Quakers, recording a 6-1, 6-2 victory. Rainey and third doubles partner Sarah Kennedy (Harrison, OH/Harrison) dropped an 8-3 decision. Mount fourth singles player Harley Huston (East Palestine, IN/East Palestin) also played well against Earlham, falling in a third set tie-breaker, 10-5. Morgan Hoehn (Cincinnati, OH/Colerain) won six games at second singles, despite losing in straight sets.
