Mount women's tennis team falls on road in HCAC opener

The Lions began the 2013 conference women's tennis season today in Franklin, IN, losing to the Grizzlies, 9-0. The Mount, 1-2 overall, will look to rebound in conference play on Sept. 21 when they host Anderson University (0-2, 0-1).

Felicia Shadwick (Middletown, OH/Monroe) played well at third singles for the Mount at Franklin, winning five games in her two sets, while the Lions' second singles player Morgan Hoehn (Cincinnati, OH/Colerain) fell by a 6-1, 6-1 score. Shadwick, and her second doubles partner Harley Huston (East Palestine, IN/East Palestine) dropped an 8-3 decision.

Franklin won all nine matches in straight sets.
