Visiting Manchester University scored the game's lone goal with just under six minutes to play in the second overtime on Saturday afternoon, hanging a 1-0 loss on the Mount. The Lions, 4-12-1 overall, 3-4 in the HCAC, resume action on Oct. 30 with a conference game at Transylvania University (11-3-2, 5-1-1 HCAC).

The Lions were out-shot in the game against the Spartans, 23-16, including 14-9 as both teams had numerous chances to dent the scoreboard throughout both 90 minutes of regulation play and the first overtime period. Mount goalkeeper Madison Freeman (Wilder, KY/Newport Central Catholic) played a stellar game in goal, recording 12 saves, her second highest save total this season.
