Senior Katie Jauch (Cincinnati, OH/Mercy) scored the go-ahead goal with just under two minutes remaining in the game as the Lions posted a 2-1 conference road win on Saturday afternoon at Defiance College. The Lions, 2-8-1 on the season, 1-0 in the HCAC, will return to action on Oct. 8 when they host a conference match-up against Bluffton University.

Victoria Heflin (Hamilton, OH/Hamilton Badin) got the scoring started in the game early on, as she tallied her team-high third goal of the season just 1:30 into the game. Defiance tied the game at one-all in the 58th minute of play. The Yellow Jackets held a 5-3 edge in shots coming down the stretch, as they tried to forge ahead, before Jauch netted her second goal of the season late in the game, off a free kick from 20 yards out.

Defiance held a 21-14 lead in shots, including 9-7 in shots on goal. Mount 'keeper Madison Freeman (Wilder, KY/Newport Central Catholic) recorded eight saves, and played all 90 minutes, as she won her second game of the season.
