Host Capital University ran its 2013 record to 6-2-1 overall when they defeated the Lions in women's soccer action on Friday evening in Columbus, Ohio, 2-0. The Mount, 1-8-1 overall, begins HCAC season play on Oct. 5 with a game at Defiance College.

The Crusaders scored in the 24th minute of action to grab a 1-0 lead, and added a goal at 61:01 to post a 2-0 advantage. They held the Mount to two shots in the game, including one on goal, for the win. Madison Freeman (Wilder, KY/Newport Central Catholic) played all 90 minutes in goal for the Mount, recording eight saves. Capital also had a 10-3 advantage in corner kicks.
