The Lions' women's soccer team and Wittenberg University battled for 110 minutes on Sunday afternoon, with neither team being able to tally a goal, as the game ended in a 0-0 double overtime tie. The Mount, 1-7-1 overall, is idle until Sept. 27 when they play at Capital University (5-2-1).
Both the Lions and Tigers each had numerous chances to score throughout the game, but were held off by strong defenses and some standout goalkeeping. Wittenberg (3-4-2) out-shot the Mount, 34-10 in the game, including 13-4 in shots on goal. The Tigers also held a 14-2 advantage in corner kicks. The Mount's Madison Freeman (Wilder, KY/Newport Central Catholic) recorded 13 saves in goal.
