Host Lake Forest College, which led by a 2-0 score throughout most of the game on Sunday, withstood a late Lions' charge to post a 2-1 win. The Mount, 1-7 overall, will be idle until Sept. 22 when they host Wittenberg University (3-3-1).

The Foresters scored goals just 1:07 into the game and at the 41:20 mark to take a 2-0 lead, but saw their lead cut to 2-1 when Katie Jauch (Cincinnati, OH/Mercy) scored an unassisted goal off a free kick in the 73rd minute of action. The Lions would get three more shots on goal down the stretch but could not post the equalizer. Madison Freeman (Wilder, KY/Newport Central Catholic) played all 90 minutes in goal for the Mount, recording five saves. Lake Forest held a 13-4 advantage in shots, including 8-2 in shots on goal, and 4-2 in corner kicks.
