Mount sophomore Victoria Heflin (Hamilton, OH/Hamilton Badin) scored twice on Friday evening, as the Lions posted their first win of the 2013 season with a 3-1 victory against Wisconsin Lutheran College in Kenosha, WI. The Mount, 1-6 overall, returns to action on Sept. 15 when they play Lake Forest College (4-1) in WI, in the final game of the Battle of the Border.

Lexie Froehlke (Oxford, OH/Talawanda) scored the first goal of the game, in the third minute of the game, giving the Lions a 1-0 lead, which they would hold at the intermission. Heflin would tally her goals at the at 54:41 and 55:51 of the game, to give the Mount a 3-0 lead. Wisconsin Lutheran would break through on the scoreboard in the 83rd minute of action, but would get no closer.

Madison Freeman (Wilder, KY/Newport Central Catholic) allowed the lone goal in 90 minutes of action, recording five saves in the win. The Lions out-shot Wisconsin Lutheran, 13-11 in the game.
