Mackenzie Money (Mason, OH/Mason) scored her second goal of the season, just 11:41 into the game on Wednesday night for the Lions, but host Ohio Wesleyan University registered the tie-breaking goal with nearly 23 minutes to play in the game and held on to defeat the Mount, 2-1. The Mount, 0-4 on the season, is back in action on Sept. 8 when they host St. Mary's College in their 2013 home opener.
Money gave the Lions a 1-0 lead in the game but OWU tied the game at 1-all in the game's 39th minute. They Bishops scored the game winner at the 67:32 mark of the second half, as they out-shot the Mount, 23-12 in the game, including 9-4 in shots on goal. Dawn Goodspeed (Batavia, OH/Batavia) started the game in goal for the Mount, playing 90 minutes and recording seven saves, in her first collegiate start.
