The Mount women's soccer team's busy opening weekend culminated on Sunday afternoon in Michigan, as the Lions dropped a 2-1 decision to Albion College. The Mount, which fell by a 5-0 score at The College of Wooster on Friday, and then suffered a 1-0 setback against Olivet on Saturday, is back in action on Sept. 4 when they play at Ohio Wesleyan University.

The Lions were held to just three shots in their opening game loss to Wooster, gave up a one goal in the 23rd minute of action against Olivet. In that game, they had seven shots, including three shots on goal but could not break through. Madison Freeman (Wilder, KY/Newport Central Catholci) played all 90 minutes in goal for the Mount, making 10 saves and allowing the lone goal.

Albion College jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first game, but the Lions cut the deficit to one, 2-1, when Mackenzie Money (Mason, OH/Mason) scored her first collegiate goal for the Mount - an unassisted one - in the 72nd minute of play. Freeman added seven saves in the game.
