Noel Boyd (Oregonia, OH/Clinton-Massie) scored a goal for the Lions in the 88-minute of play today at Franklin College, and the Lions' withstood a late Grizzly comeback attempt to register a 1-1 double OT tie. The Mount, 0-10-1 overall, 0-1-1 in the HCAC, will return to action on Oct. 9 when they host a conference game against Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in the team's annual Pink Ribbon Girls Night.

Boyd scored off a pass from teammate Brittany Bowman (Hamilton, OH/Ross) at the 87:09 mark on the scoreboard but the Lions saw Franklin knot the score at one-all just over a minute later when they scored an unassisted goal at 88:34. Boyd would have one of the two Mount shots in the first overtime while Franklin would get one shot in each of the two overtime periods, as the two teams completed play tied. Madison Freeman (Wilder, KY/Newport Central Catholic) played the first 51 minnutes of game in goal for the Lions, recording three saves, while Jen Fern (Cincinnati, OH/McAuley) came in in relief, making six saves and allowing the lone Franklin goal.

Franklin out-shot the Mount, 14-12 in the game, and had a 6-4 edge in corner kicks.
