Steve Iori returns for his fifth season as a Lions’ assistant coach. Iori graduated from the College of Mount St. Joseph in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in business administration degree with concentrations in marketing and management. He was a four-year wrestler for the Lions, and was the team’s Rookie of the Year in 1998, after placing in the top six of every meet, and qualifying to NAIA National tournament that season. Iori was also on the Mount's first conference and regional championship team in 2000 and was a team captain as a senior.
Iori has been a substitute teacher and part owner of a landscaping business. He also coached wrestling at Elder High School for four years following college, directing numerous state placers, many of whom have gone on to wrestle collegiately. He also was a volunteer coach with the Elder Kids Club and Junior High programs and also assisted with the Westside Freestyle/Greco-Roman Wrestling Club.
He is currently employed in Fifth Third Bank's Consumer Lending Direct Equity lending division, analyzing risk and approving equity loans for new and/or existing FifthThird customers. He is also the owner of Meshed Landscaping.
Iori resides in Cincinnati, Ohio.
