The Lions traveled to Cleveland, OH on Saturday afternoon, taking part in the Case Western Reserve University Duals. The Mount dropped both of their matches on the day; 36-12 to Wheeling Jesuit University and 39-16 to host Case Western Reserve University.
Wayne Black (Indianapolis, IN/Pike) and Sean Brooks (Englewood, OH/Northmont) each recorded 2-0 marks on the day. Black, at 141, defeated his opponent from WJU, 10-5 and then pinned his CWRU foe at the 4:07 mark of the match. Brooks, at 285, recorded a 3-1 win against his opponent from WJU and followed that with a win by forfeit in the other match.
Nathan Islamovsky (Eaton, OH/Eaton), at 197, recorded a pin at 2:59 vs. WJU, and Tyler Ray (West Chester, OH/Lakota East), at 184 won with a major decision against CWRU, for the Mount's other wins on the day.
The Mount returns to the mats on Feb. 15 at the Mid-States Championships hosted by Wabash College in Crawfordsville, IN.
