Wrestling team takes 25th place at Midwest Classic

The College Of Mount St. Joseph wrestling team placed 25th in the two-day Midwest Classic. The Lions earned 12.0 points in the event held at the University of Indianapolis. Fourth ranked Newberry claimed the title with 127.0 points, while the host University of Indianapolis and McKendree tied for second with 107.5 points. 

Five wrestlers participated for the Mount. Wayne Black (Indianapolis, IN/Pike) competed in the 141 pound class for the Lions. He started the event with two wins, but could only finish with a 2-2 record for the Classic. Nick Manning (Moores Hill, IN/South Dearborn) also finished with a 2-2 record competing in the 174 pound class. Sean Brooks (Englewood, OH/Northmont) and Nathan Islamovsky (Eaton, OH/Eaton) both finished 1-2 over the two-day event in the 285 and 197 pound classes respectively. 

The Lions take a break for the Christmas holiday, before returning to the mat January 4th at the Waynesburg Invitational.
