The Lions traveled to Ada, Ohio for the second time this week for the Ohio Northern Invitational. The Lions took tenth place with 56.5 points. Olivet College was the meet champion, with Lindsey Wilson finishing a close second.
Wayne Black (Indianapolis, IN/Pike) had a strong day with a fourth place finish. Black was the number two seed in the 141-pound weight class, and finished the day with a 4-2 record.
Tyler Ray (West Chester, OH/Lakota East) also finished with a 4-2 record on the day. Ray was the number nine seed in the 184-pound weight class, but earned a seventh place finish with a 6-1 decision in his final match.
Nathan Islamovsky (Eaton, OH/Eaton) earned another seventh place finish for the Lions. Islamovksy finished the day with a 4-2 record.
The highest finisher for the Lions was Sean Brooks (Englewood, OH/Northmont) who earned a second place finish. Brooks entered the invitational as the number five seed, but won his first four matches putting him in the final. Brooks lost the final by decision 2-0, but finished with a 4-1 record on the day.
The Lions will return to action next weekend for the two-day Midwest Classic in Indianapolis, Indiana.
