Lions' wrestling team finishes fifth at the North Central College Invitational

On Satruday the Lions traveled to Naperville, IL to compete in the North Central College Invitational against teams such as the Champion Wabash, Augustana, and UW Whitewater. The Lions finished fifth with 72.5, while Wabash collected 140 points. 

In the 141 pound class Wayne Black (Indianapolis, IN/Pike) was the number 3 seed. Black won his first two matches, and ended up finishing sixth. Tommy Fehring (Amelia, OH/Glen Este) was the number 3 seed in the 157 pound class and battled his way to a third place finish by compling 4 wins against 1 loss. Cory Disbennett (Bethel, OH/Bethel-Tate) was the champion in the the 165 pound class, finishing the day with 3 wins and no losses. Disbennett won his championship match by decision 5-3. Nathan Islamovsky (Eaton, OH/Eaton) finished fifth in the 197 pound weight class. 

The Lions will return to the mat at the Midwest Classic next weekend for a two day event. The Midwest Classic is held in Indianapolis, Indiana.
