Sunday, November 04, 2012 The College of Mount St. Joseph wrestling team kicked off their 2012 season on Saturday, Nov. 3 at the Division I Eastern Michigan University Open. The Lions competed against schools from Division I, II and III in the open tournament that did not have team scores, and was broken up into two divisions, Freshman/Sophomore and Open. Sophomore Tyler Ray (Middletown, OH/Lakota East) compiled a 3-2 mark in the freshman/sophomore 184-pound division bracket, while 133-pounder Eddie Sanders Hamilton, OH/Hamilton Badin) went 2-2 as did 141-pound teammate Tevin Byers (Trotwood, OH/Trotwood-Madison). Junior 141-pounder Wayne Black (Indianapolis, IN/Pike) and teammate Tommy Fehring (Amelia, OH/Glen Este), a 157-pounder, each won two matches in the Open division. The Mount is back in action on Nov. 10 at the Washington & Jefferson College Open in Washington, PA. |
