The Lions' wrestling team competed in the Wheaton College Tournament over the weekend in Wheaton, Illinois just 40 minutes outside of Chicago. The two-day tournament concluded on Saturday with the Lions placing 21st overall with a total of 26.5 points.

Junior Tommy Fehring (Amelia, OH/Glen Este) was the only Lion to place in his respective weight class as he went on to take fourth place in the 157 bracket. Fehring won his first bout with a pin over Grant Anglemyer (Manchester) in 2:44. He followed up his first win with a decision win, 6-1, over Michael Frasure (Muskingum) before losing his first match of the tournament to the eventual second place finisher Elias Larson (Trine) by decision, 6-0. Fehring rattled off three straight victories in the consolation bracket before being pinned (2:27) in the third place match to finish in fourth place.

The Lions return to the mats for the Mid-States Championship held at home in the Harrington Center on Saturday, February 11.
