Samantha Hughes (Cincinnati, OH/Colerain) scored six goals, an the Liokns got a strong defensive effort on Saturday evening as they posted a program-best sixth win of the season in a 14-4 victory at Fontbonne University. The Lions, 6-6 overall, go to 3-4 in the MWLC and will be back in action on April 24 at DePauw University.

The Lions got goals from five different scorers to start the game, and rolled out to leads of 4-0 and 5-1 at the half. Sarah Moderbacher (Ross, OH/Ross) scored her second goal of the game to make the score 7-1 with 27:39 left in the game, as the closest the home team would get was to within five goals, ay 9-4. The Mount fired in the last five goals of the game, with Hughes and teammate Chrissy O'Hara (Cincinnati, OH/Mercy) each tallying two of those scores. Hughes also recorded five ground balls.

The win ended a four-game losing streak for the Mount, and bettered last season's win total of five. O'Hara amassed four goals and two assists against the Griffins, while Erica Walsh (Louisville, KY/Sacred Heart) chipped in two goals. Paige Apel (Cincinnati, OH/Seton) played all sixty minutes in goal and had 10 saves. The Lions out-shot Fontbonne, 28-17.
