Host Otterbein University jumped out to a 3-1 lead, and held an 8-4 lead at halftime on Wednesday afternoon, as they defeated the Mount, 13-8. The Lions, 5-4 overall, next take their 2-2 MWLC record into an April 13 home game against Augustana College. Augustana and North Central College are currently tied for first place in the conference, each at 4-0.

Samantha Hughes (Cincinnati, OH/Colerain) got the scoring started for the Lions with 18:08 on the first half clock, cutting the Otterbein deficit to 3-1, before the Cardinals scored twice to bump their lead to 5-1. They led by an four-goal margin at the half, and held a commanding 11-4 lead with 18:32 left in the game. The Mount would score four of the game's next six goals, getting goals from four different players, but would get no closer than the final margin.

Hughes, Chrissy O'Hara (Cincinnati, OH/Mercy) and Holly Hubble (Cincinnati, OH/Loveland) each scored two goals. Paige Apel (Cincinnati, OH/Seton) played all 60 minutes in goal for the Mount, and had 14 saves.
