For the first time in school history the College of Mount St. Joseph women's gold team finished in the top four at the HCAC Championships. The Championship was held in Seymour, Indiana at the Shadowood Golf Course. The course was played at 5,827 yard each day with a par of 72 each round. The Lions finished the first day at 350, 62-over par, putting them in fourth place going into day two. In day two the Lions shot a 352, for a total of 702, 126-over par, good for a fourth place finish.
The Championship was won by Hanover College, who finished the event at 662, 86-over par. They were followed by Rose-Hulman Inistitute of Technology and Franklin College with socres of 697 and 700 respectively. The Indiviudal Medalist and HCAC Champion was Brooke McCay of Hanover College.
Leading the way for the Lions was a pair of All-Conference performers - the first time in MSJ history the program has had two players named All-HCAC in one season. Senior Jennifer Trame (Milford, OH/Milford) finished her career in style with a top-five finish. Trame finished in a tie for fifth place at 168, 24-over par. Trame broke three school records during the weekend. Her opening day 82 was the lowest round for a Mount player i HCAC Tournament history, and her fifth place finish and total of 168, were both school records for HCAC Championship play. Also finishing in an All-HCAC position was sophomore Kasey Dunn (Georgetown, KY/Scott County). Dunn finished in a tied for eighth place at 171 (84-87), 27-over par.
Sophomores Sara Treash (Greensburg, IN/Greensburg Community) and Christen Riedl (Liberty Township, OH/Lakota West) both posted top-25 finishes for the Lions. Treash finished in a tie for 17th place, shooting a 178 (89-89), 34-over par. Riedl finished alone in 25th place. She shot a 188 (95-95), 44-over par for the event. Jennfer Vogel (Cincinnati, OH/Seton), a senior, rounded out the scorers for the Mount, placing in a tie for 26th place with a 190.
