Women's cross country competes at the HCAC Championship

The College of Mount St. Joseph cross country team traveled to Defiance College to compete in the HCAC Championships on Saturday, November 2nd. The Lions brought eight athletes to the 6,000 meter race, where the team finished in tenth place. The HCAC champion was Hanover College. The individual champion was Ryann-Rebecca Montgomery who finished in a time of 22:00.60.

Setting the pace for the Lions was Emily Wolhfrom (Cincinnati, OH/Oak Hills) who ran the course in a time of 27:27.70, good enough for a 78th place finish. Following closely behind Wolhfrom was Jacqui Tackett (West Chester, OH/Lakota East) who finished 92nd in a time of 29:20.30. Senior Emily Heyl (Cincinnati, OH/Seton) finished her last trip to the HCAC meet in a time of 33:18.90.

The Lions will next compete in the Great Lake Regional. The regional will be hosted by Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan on November 16th.
