HCAC releases women's cross country preaseason poll

The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Coaches' Preseason women's cross country poll has been released and the Mount has been chosen to finish ninth this season. Manchester University, which is shooting for its fifth straight HCAC Championships this season, was chosen as the front runner in the poll, garnering eight, first-place votes, totaling 97 points. Hanover College (one, first-place vote, 90 points) and Franklin College (one, first-place vote, 83 points) were the next two teams in the poll.

Anderson University, Bluffton University, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, Earlham College, Defiance College, the Mount, and Transylvania University round out the poll.

The following Mount runners were selected as "Runners to Watch" for the 2013 season:

Emily Wohlfrom            Junior               Cincinnati, OH/Oak Hills

Kelleen Scott                Senior               Newark, Ohio/Catholic

Amanda Shelby             Sophomore       Cincinnati, Ohio/Lakota West
