HCAC-leader Transylvania Unviersity got five players in double figures on Wednesday night as they posted a 106-67 home win over the Mount. The Lions, 2-18 overall, 2-11 in the conference, will be back in action on Feb. 8 when they play at Defiance College.

Brooke Mosler (Maysville, KY/St. Patrick's) made a trey 17:01 on the first half clock to give the Mount a 7-6 lead, but Transy would bounce back and go on a 15-2 run over the next five plus minutes and jump out to a 12 point lead. They would maintain a double digit lead for most of the remainder of the first half, leading 59-31 at the intermission. The Pioneers out-shot the Lions, 47 to 24 percent from the field in the first half and held a 35-20 advantage on the boards.

Transy connected at an even higher rate of their shots in the second half, 60 percent, en route to their 17th win of the season in 19 games, and their second victory over the Mount this season.

Tara Dennis (Batavia, OH/Williamsburg) had 29 points and 13 rebounds to pace the Mount. It was her ninth double-double of the season, and tied her season-high in points, just one off her career high (30).
