Lions' women's basketball team welcomes first-year player Kiana Ellinghausen

The College of Mount St. Joseph officially announces that Kiana Ellinghausen (South Dearborn High School) will attend the College in the fall and play basketball.

Ellinghausen, a 5-foot-11 forward, is a 2012 graduate of South Dearborn (Ind.) High School. She attended NAIA Marian University (Ind.) last year on a scholarship but did not play for the Knights. While in high school, she converted 87 percent from the free throw line and nearly 50 percent from the field during her senior campaign for Head Coach Bob Bressert. In addition, Ellinghausen was named to the Rivertown Classic All-Tournament Team, the Dearborn County All-County Team, and her team’s Most Improved Player.

In addition, she was in the Academic Top Ten, in the National Honor Society, the FFCLA, S.A.D.D, and was a STAR mentor. In 2012 she won outstanding the Science and History award, and in 2011 garnered the outstanding Spanish student award.

Kiana, the daughter of Rose ad Brian Ellinghausen, is planning on majoring in Physical Therapy at the Mount.
