College of Mount St. Joseph forward Tara Dennis (Batavia, OH/Williamsburg) has been named to the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference All-Freshman Team. Dennis led the Mount in points per game (11.0), rebounds per game (6.2) and blocked shots (33) this season.

Dennis had a Mount and personal-high 30 points and 18 rebounds against Earlham College this season. For the season, the 6-foot freshman had two double-double games (points-rebounds), adding a 17-point, 13-rebound effort in the team’s season finale at Anderson University.

She is the Lions' first selection to the HCAC All-Freshman team since the 2004-2005 season when Krystal Clark also won the Freshman of the Year award, in addition to being named to the All-Freshman Team.
