Visiting Heidelberg University shot 50 percent in the first half, and held the Lions to just 19 percent field goal shooting in the opening 20 minutes of action, as they rolled to a 70-45 win in the first game for both teams at the MSJ Tip-Off Classic. The Lions are slated to play again on Nov. 17 against Marietta College, a 53-47 winner over Albion College in the Classic.

The Lions traiked the 'Berg 34-17 at the half, as the visitors received balanced scoring and point production from eight different players in the opening half. Heidelberg also connected on five-of-nine three-point shots in the first half, as the Mount made just six-of-31 shots from the field in the first 20 minutes. The Mount whittled the deficit down to 14, 39-25 after a basket by Chelsea Castleberry (Hebron, KY/Conner) with 14:54 to play, but would get no closer the rest of the half as Heidelberg continued to add to their lead by running an efficient offense and holding the Mount to 11, second half baskets.

Melanine Monahan (Mason, OH/Bishop Fenwick) led the Lions with eight points, four rebounds and four assists while Madie Long (Columbus, OH/Hillard Davidson) had seven points and teammate Tara Dennis (Batavia, OH/Williamsburg) chipped in a game-high 10 rebounds.
