by Dane Neumeister

Mount senior basketball player Alex Donald (Litchfield, ME/Oak Hill), a guard/forward, heads a list of four Lions' players selected as "Players to Watch" this season in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference. Along with Donald, those players are: sophomore forward Rachel Blevins (Middletown, OH/Madison), sophomore guard Melanie Monahan (Mason, OH/Fenwick), and sophomore forward Brooke Mosler (Maysville, KY/St. Patrick’s).

Last season's HCAC champion, Hanover College, was picked for first this season in the coaches' preseason poll, picking up four first place votes, edging runner-up Franklin College by just two points. The Lions were chosen for eighth place in the poll. Click here for the entire poll and list of top players.
